Armazém do Grão wins award from Petrópolis City Hall

Armazém do Grão, an ASSERJ member, won a major award for its trajectory and importance to society and the economy of the mountainous region of the state of Rio de Janeiro. Last Thursday night, October 23rd, the chain was awarded "Company of the Year - Large Size" at the Visconde Mauá Prize, promoted by the Petrópolis City Hall, for its history of growth, innovation and commitment to local development.

During the ceremony, held last Thursday evening, October 23rd, at the Quitandinha Palace in Petrópolis, the city's main companies were honored and, of course, the supermarket retail sector had a representative at a time of celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit and the fundamental role of companies in generating income and opportunities in the municipality.

Antoane Corrêa, CEO of Armazém do Grão, said upon receiving the award: "This recognition is the result of a journey built on hard work, innovation and love for Petrópolis. Since our first store, we have believed that growing is also about contributing to the city, creating jobs, supporting local producers and investing in technology and sustainability."

The mayor of Petrópolis, Hingo Hammes, stressed: "Recognizing entrepreneurs is valuing those who make our city's economy run".

"It's much more than a plaque (the award). It's recognition of the effort and dedication of those who build Petrópolis every day," added the Secretary for Economic Development, Samir El Ghaoui.

ASSERJ congratulates Armazém do Grão on its achievement and praises the government's recognition of the essential role that supermarket retail plays for all sectors of society and for Rio de Janeiro's economy.
